I have had high blood pressure for the last 25 years and over time been treated with various drugs. I settled eventually on Indapamide, but since being diagnosed with atrial fibrillation my BP is all over the place. My diastolic is usually in the 90`s and although my systolic is around 150-160 I do not know if this is ok. I have been told that your BP rises with age (I am 73) so the higher numbers did not raise any eyebrows but the diastolic I have not raised with the cardiologist. Has anyone any idea why the diastolic is so high?
