Passed my latest degree module, whoopi. Two months to go and shall have my nose back to the grind stone for my next module in Adult Health and Social care. Bring it on, so bored, in the meantime got some reading to do, quite appropriately Stanley Cohen's "Moral Panic and Folk Devils." About how the media treats certain issues.

Ah now Daxie, a very appropriate read for our time - here we are now - 'folk devils' ourselves- ie the 'undeserving' sick, suspected of sucking the state dry along with the undeserving poor/unemployed...with the politico's and media implanting and repeatedly reinforcing the idea that it is we who pose a threat to society, we who will have the economy crumbling, we who will somehow affect what the 'good honest working people of this country' are entitled to. A great read.
