Went back to GP about the pain and marks on my legs when wearing these stockings. I had to cut the top band to stop it digging into my legs, even after doing this still hurts, any advice?

Support stockings again!
Do you know what size they measured you at? Maybe they’ve got the measurement wrong. The stockings need to fit snuggly but not cut in like that. It shouldn’t hurt. See if you can be re-measured. Hope a solution can be found. Xxx👍
Have been remeasured and they say it is large, so that is all I can do.
That is my size too although I had XL the first time I was prescribed. Perhaps they could try XL? One pair could do at first just to see. Good luck to you. Xxx
Dont think my surgery will go for that after being measured twice. I will have to buy them.
Hi Annie
Of course the Surgery should supply correctly fitting stockings.
Show them your leg marks and describe how painful your legs are when wearing the stockings.
BERNARDINE 🥰🤗🤗🤗
Done all of that, they said they are the correct size! Have ordered an xl pair and will pay for these
Yes we had to do this also for my husband from amazon or daylongalso xlarge been great since.as our doctor has only prescribed one stocking and Liner in 18 months keep sayingCannot get them but I.manage shocking really.
What did yr dr suggest
Just a thought, do they do an annual or six monthly Doplar Test to check the blood pressure and circulation in your legs (ours does arms as well)?
I have to have it done annually, they then remeasure my legs and then they renew my support stockings prescription for another year. My mum wasn't allowed support stockings as her leg circulation wasn't good enough to have them, it was picked up by Doplar then a referral to a consultant.
I'm prescribed Duomed ones , grade 2. They are soft, easy to put on and breathable.. no more flakey legs. xx
Ask your doctor about a Farrow wrap. I had similar problems and the district nurse suggested I try these. There are two parts one for the foot and the main one for the leg. It is easy to put on and at first does seem fiddly but you get used to it. There are six pieces to the main leg and you wrap each one round and fasten it using velcro. If you google video of applying Farrow wrap you can see what it is. Worked wonders for me and not painful at all.
Sounds as though they don’t fit. Check your prescription as I’m now on the third attempt to get the correct ones ordered from my surgery!
Hi,
My doctor prescribed these for me. I wore them once and had what could only be described as burn marks just above ankles. My grandson said quite happily, I`ll have them to wear when out running. Result no more burn marks. With warmer weather and possibility to wear sandles, no more socks of any sort and reddish/bluish markings around ankles getting better.
Discolouration on other ankle almost disappeared.
So, my suggestion for what it`s worth, try wearing no socks at all, do a bit more walking, if you can, and forget bloody support stockings.
Enjoy the weather, take care, Chris.
