COVID booster

I have just had a text from my surgery giving me the opportunity to have the booster jab this Saturday. I had to ring up because we are currently on holiday on the beautiful Isle of Wight, so we are both having it on 16 th October. Very efficient I thought.

That’s good news Carnival. Pete hasn’t heard yet. Hope you’re having a lovely holiday. The Isle of Wight is a favourite of ours. Xxxxx

We love the isle of wight as well as its geology is interesting but feel the needles has been spoilt as its too commercialised nowadays.

It's the same at lands end they have spoilt that by making it commercialised!

Wish it was wonderful here enjoy the sun and warmth x

Whereabouts in the isle of wight have you gone to?

Years ago we went to Sandown which I really enjoyed and to the zoo there as well and for a nice walk along the prom to Shanklin.

The needles I feel they have spoilt by making it into a commercial place like they have done to lands end.

We’re at Niton, right on the southern tip, it’s lovely. I agree about the Needles, such a shame.

How lucky to have been called to have it,I live on the Isle of Wight and we can't even get the flu vaccination yet let alone covid booster .

in reply to B0xermad

Theres nice living on the isle of wight!

Perhaps Boots might be able to help you with the flu jab but you will probably have to pay at present.

I was contacted yesterday by both the NHS and my GP for the Booster and I am having it tomorrow. Very impressed. The venue is the Civic hall , so just hope I can manage it as on oxygen 24-7 . There is a lot of walking and queuing, so trying to organise a wheel chair.

Good luck with your jabs!

I think with the boosters they will call you up in order of clinical need.

Hope you manage all right, presumably they will have wheelchairs available.

No , no wheelchairs available, it’s a civic hall, hubby checked it out today , but they have said as I am on oxygen and can’t walk far , to make myself known to one of the Marshalls , then I will be shown to a side room and they will vaccinate me there. It is a fair walk from car park to civic hall , and then more walking inside . But here goes , just grateful to get it done .
