Covid spring booster Scotland

I got my booster today only because one dr in my surgery said I should go and walk in to a centre and ask for it. A month ago another gp at my surgery said I don’t qualify. If you are in Scotland with our rising covid rates and awaiting your invitation just make a wee trip to your local centre and make your case.the worse they can do is say no. At the centre I was met by a very sensible staff nurse who didn’t hesitate to vaccinate me. Ps I’m 51 years old not on immunosuppressed medication but do use ambulatory oxygen Copd/ bronchiectasis.

I think its a shambles, everywhere has different rules and nobody gives the correct advice. I think your doctor was right and glad you got sorted x

Well done you. As I have to have AstraZeneca I still haven’t had my 2nd booster as there isn’t any in the area in England where I live. I contacted 119 but they instructed me to contact me surgery, and the surgery told me to ring 119. Now Covid is on the rise again it’s all a little scary. So glad that you are well protected. Best Wishes

That’s not good that you can’t get the supplies you need. I hope you can keep safe in the meantime.

I also have COPD when I get trouble breathing I sing for a few hours a day and my lungs seem to clear and after a day or two find it easer to breath. I don't know if this will help you but it works for me every time. good luck and I hope you feel better soon.PS. I have the breathing pump it works for a while but not as long as singing for a few hours I hope you feel better soon Tom

Though it’s good that we can be vaccinated, there seems to be disagreement over eligibility, and this is made worse as lot of GPs have I’m told taken early retirement, or are only working 2 or 3 days per week. As I will be 87 two weeks today and was born with PCD I’m extremely vulnerable, don’t like go into public places, but was pleased when able to go for 4th Booster on 5 April. Hope everyone gets now Jab they need, and in few months will be time for flu jab as well. Good luck and best wishes, Jean
