Hi everyone, my wife has copd as some of you may know, can I ask please , what kind of easy chair do you all have.We have leather recliners which my wife finds too wide & too deep,which makes as her feet don't touch the floor even in an upright position ( she's 5ft 2in. )

Hi Masteryoda, we have an HSL recliner which is electrically operated and comes in different sizes to suit most people. You can position the chair how you want it. Pete’s is bigger than mine and he often sleeps in it. Xxxx

hi I have an Ercol chair which has good support for my back. I am 5'5" and it is fine for me. Personally I am not keen on recliners. I have a proper leg rest from Cosyfeet if I want to put my feet up.

Hi,we have recliner function on our corner unit.. I’m 5 feet and also have lung problems.I don’t use the recliner function much ,it doesn’t really help me. I have.lotsof cushions - different sizes. I get really comfortable so that I can sit up straight,it helps mylungsand my chest.

My husband hates cushions,but we agree to differ.

Hi I have a recliner with a cushion behind my back but it is not the best if you need to be upright ,I only recline it when my lungs are not playing up.i also have an old lady chair which is taller and has a straight back which is perfect for the days I am struggling with breathing. By the way I am 4 ft 11.

Like Nimrod2 I have an Ercol chair and sofa, chosen because I'm 5ft. nothing and like to have my feet on the floor. Bought long ago- I don't know if Ercol still make these nice simple designs.

Forgot to say. I also use a pillow somewhere. I bought some pillow cases to go with the colours of the room,

I bought a chair from Stressless a few years ago, some off their range come in 3 different sizes, you get the lumbar support where you need, if you are short. They recline when you put your feet up on the separate foot stool, no electrics required. However I find that when my chest is bad, being reclined is very unhelpful. When I got the small one I was 5'2", now 4'11" still OK.

I am only 4’9” with the added problem of a spinal curvature and have always had problems with chair comfort over the years and worse in old age. Now at 79 I decided to splash out on a custom made Recliner which has been great. It was made by a local company who provide other disability aids. I’m in Liverpool.

Hello Masteryoda, I have two chairs that were made to measure. The first company went bust to spite the expensive price I paid. My latest is from Camelot in Derbyshire, they make a compact one for smaller people , it is nice ,has a massage, heated and reclines and brings you back up. I do prefer the quality of the original one I bought . I would say shop around. Camelot supply to the NHS. If you just want a recliner they can be bought quite cheaply from most furniture stores , but if you want a speciality facility like made to measure they are somewhat dearer. ASk for quotes is best way because we all have different incomes. Good Luck.

Nothing fancy for us, Masteryoda, as just plain and simple large, sturdy wing chairs. They are not chairs you can sink into as cushion and back upholstery are firm but still comfortable. The sitting height of chairs is not low level so older people like them because they can get up more easily. I am 5' 2" as well and never have a problem with feet not touching floor. At times when my cough keeps me awake I always sit and sleep in one of these chairs as more restful than laying in bed coughing.

Hi. I've got a leather recliner with a fold-up leg rest. For extra comfort I place a pillow on the rest. Its fine for me but I'm 5' 10'. If these recliners are too wide perhaps a pillow on each side could be used. Otherwise you might browse some online sights for narrow recliners. These are usually padded leather and are sleek looking, sometimes with a swivel function. Fruitful browsing.

Hi Masteryoda, we have HSL recliner chairs which are tailored to your height etc. I am 5ft 8inches (when they open, a visit to your local store would be a good idea). We would recommend them. Take care, Maxixmonkey

Hi Masteryoda, I'm 5ft 2 and weigh 6st 7 so needed a fairly narrow chair. I have a petite HSL riser recliner in one room and a petite Celebrity one in another room. I much prefer the HSL chair and regret buying the Celebrity one. Your wife would be wise to try a few if possible before ordering as it's an expensive mistake to make if you buy the wrong one, but I don't know how that works during lockdown. Good luck
