Discontinued tablet

Hello everyone can I have some advice guys it seems my sob they think is wheeze related and have told me to take prednisolone the one I normally take do not make them anymore I've been given as part of rescue pack prednisolone by accord only on NHS website says it's been discontinued now do I take as nothing on website as to why it was discontinued or not anyone been on these recently I've got to start taking in morning I've already had the week from hell

Are you sure it is not Prednisone that has been discontinued. Prednisolone is still listed on the NHS site. Note they are very similar in the way that they are spelt. Both are corticosteroids.

Yes was prednisolone says discontinued by accord

Accord Healthcare Ltd., Just the name of the manufacturer. The drug name is Prednisolone and there are many manufacturers of it as it is 'off licence'. Probably it is just a pricing issue, if it was just a dodgy batch then that batch would have had a recall. I have Prednisolone from both Wochardt and Genesis. Phone your Pharmasist and ask the question if you are still concerned.

I have had several courses of prednisolone this year from a variety of manufacturers. It is readily available and your pharmacist will have no problem filling a prescription for you.

I wanted to know if the one the doctor has given me is safe and why was it discontinued when I was given it only recently

Thankyou Hun there new ones to me I normally have Teva I have no problems with them to have to be starting with another pharmaceutical company then to see discontinued on the site I was panicking as to why they were discontinued they don't help patients do they I've already had an ambulance out there s week so do not need any problems with this tablet thankyou for replying I get so worried these days rotten lungs

I have been on prednisolone for many years ,not had problems yet with supply.

Bless u my throat feels a bit weird but I'm a worry merchant these days that's why I hate changing my meds pharmaceutical company I was on prednisolone by Teva for many years then just decided where not making it anymore I was so annoyed told them so as well thankyou for you Ur answer I've already had the week from hell

I've taken prednisolone 4 times this year, once in hospital and the other times by gp, I hope you feel better soon xx

Thankyou I'm afraid I don't at the moment I'm out of breathe going to the bathroom I live in a bungalow !!!;;; eek throat still playing up I hate tablets😭

Oh I feel your pain, I live in a flat and i'm breathless walking around, yes things do affect the throat and my stomach and the constant thirst 😹 have to laugh or you'd be crying xx
