Hi everyone. I was taken off bendrofluazide 2.5mg (not sure of spelling) end of Dec. I have taken it for years but my pressure went down too low but now I have aches & pains all over and swollen feet in the evening! Does anyone else have this?

Hello, I think you know you have to go back to your doctor now, to find out what's going on. It may be a tempory response of your body to not having its regular medication. But it is something that must be sorted right away.

Hi I have been to dr she said it is probably due to stopping medication. Checked my blood pressure which was ok. Wanted a blood test this week but I could only get one in 2 weeks!

Well done for getting things sorted right away. It is unfortunate you cannot get an earlier appointment for a blood test. However, if you ring your surgery each day you may get a cancellation. Give it a try and keep on top of things.

I agree you should go to your Dr let him monitor your blood pressure and tell him of your other symptoms. Xxx

Bendroflumethiazide, formerly bendrofluazide, is a diuretic so it's not really surprising that your feet are swelling:

Thanks for that. I think it must be stopping the medication that has caused the problem hopefully it will all settle down soon

Sit with your legs higher than your heart occasionally during the day to let the fluid drain. Moving your lower legs regularly whether sitting or standing, can help the calf muscle pump move more fluids up towards your heart. And (one which I'm so guilty of) try not to cross your legs unless absolutely necessary. ;)
