Early Night.

I've had a busy day today

And I'm feeling very tired

I think I'll have an early night

That is what's required

I'll just watch this on the TV

It's the sort of thing I like

It's showing where the wife and I

With the children used to hike.

A quick check on the 'puter

To see what friends there say

Oh dear me that is so sad

I must register my dismay

There's quite a lot of posts here

From folk that I know well

I'll just read quickly through them

But on them I must not dwell

It's getting late for bedtime

But what is this I see

I haven't washed the pots up yet

From when I had my tea

So at last I climb the stairs

And get a awful shock

Looking at the time I see

It's after one o'clock

I just don't know how you do it Don. When I had to compose a short poem for my WI Group it took me weeks, and it was rubbish anyway. I was exhausted worrying and trying to put words to paper. We all have skills I believe and this is, no doubt yours. Well done again.

Good afternoon Mr.D 😴💤💤oops sorry I nearly dozed off there for a second! 😮I'm yawning away and if I was to close my eyes I'd be asleep too. Alas I've got my flu jab in 25 mins so best get a move on 🐌!!💞

A lot of my nights seem to be like that. Once again you've created another master piece.👍😁

What I would like to know is why we have such weird dreams sometimes, last night (retired at midnight) I had a dream about a baby black bear that had seemingly adopted me as it's caregiver???????? Where on earth did that come from? Okay I have long grey hair and beard but I am nowhere near the size of Grizzly Adams (Dan Haggerty).

in reply to2greys

I never used to be able to remember what I dreamt during the night the next morning. Now not only can I remember but dream a different dream but in the same surroundings which are totally unknown to me over and over again. It's strange what goes on in there. 🙄

in reply to2greys

It was only a baby bear, I think you’ve been given a glimpse into the future.😂

Thanks for that Don, maybe you’ll get your early night tonight.......or maybe not.

Enjoy your weekend. Xxxxx😀

in reply tosassy59

Thanks Carole, do you and Pete manage to sleep well at night? 😘x

sassy59 profile image
sassy59 in reply to

Me, not too bad but Pete doesn’t sleep well at all. He goes to bed around 8pm and gets up to pee often so then gets up around 3.30/4.30. Not great. Xxxx

in reply tosassy59

I'm like Pete pee wise, up every two or three hours, I should be more strict with myself going to bed at a reasonable time. I think Midge is getting fed up with me she's been sleeping downstairs recently just coming up to wake me at 6.34am precisely.

Where does the time go Don, you look at the clock and its 7 and turn around and its 10. I wish I could stop getting up for the loo, whoever finds a cure for this will be a millionaire x

That is me every night. I feel tired and think I should go to bed. Three hours later I’m still wandering around with my toothbrush, looking at the iPad, listening to some songs on my Amazon Music app, deciding that midnight is a great time to water my plant, and suddenly it’s 1AM and I’m no further advanced than when I first thought of getting ready for bed.

Well I’m turning over a new leaf 🍃 Goodnight. 🥱

Poetry again fantastic and so true for so many of us oldies. The days are flying by because it takes me so long to do simple tasks. Are you still getting out in the ‘van’. I’m getting a yen to see the sea again at the coastguard station. It’s a 45 minute drive for me but i love it there. Do you go wintertime?. It would be good to meet up some time. Maybe the spring when it’s a bit warmer.

Xx jo

in reply toJomo46

Yes I tend to use the camper all year, it is well heated especially when I'm plugged into electrics though it has a gas heater as well. I tend to visit the coastguard station more in the winter than in the summer since it's only half and hour away and I don't wander off much further than that in winter.

By around 9.30 I have had enough tv and get ready for bed. I read in bed for about half an hour and then put the light out. I am up 3 or 4 times for the loo and usually get up around 7.30 to 8. Tony gets up earlier than me, but then he has a sleep every afternoon! Love Iris x

in reply toLyd12

That's a pretty good sleep pattern you have then, Iris. I think most people of our age bracket have the pee problem. Do you find that your choice of reading matter influences the type of sleep you have?

No merry quip from Skis today, Don? Hope he's ok. The poem struck a chord with me! xx Moy

No, I'm a bit worried about him.

I've just seen him flash past on a thread about eating and drinking. 😉

Pray master Po and Moy good friends worry not about the Ski's

Although he is not eating much and certainly not his share of peas

A simple pulled muscle somewhere in his side

Means he's lying low and resting and he definitely hasn't died. :)

Buggered Ski's and a Cat that doesn't care xx

Hola Carino mio, Well, I don't know how long it takes to "Kick in" it doesn't say in the Explanation Leaflet, So I will carry on with just 5 ml until I feel the Breathing coming more easily, still having my 02 constantly. The Doxy for the infection? I have 4 more days with them then back on my Azithromycin. I wish I could find you a "Fix" so you can eat again Hun, I had Mushroom Soup for my Lunch, I thought of you with your Chicken Broth. When I had the valve procedure, they gave me Codeine, after wards saying it was addictive and she , Nurse would change me to Paracetamol on day 2. Well at the end of the Day, we are all Drug Addicts, It's the Consultants fault, But our Drugs are always needed to Live. Hope you have a Better day Tomorrow Carino, I'm looking for "Sunday Roast" in a Soup Form, well you can with Crisps. Besitos siempre a ti y Scruffita. XXXXX

Glad to hear from you, Skiis. I was a bit worried at the thoughts of you wasting away! Didn't see your post until this morning (Monday) as couldn't get online yesterday. Hope your pulled muscle settles soon. Did you get it from lifting pints of beer? xx Moy
