With horrific heartburn, I don't usually get heartburn with my reflux. Knowing pain under my left breastbone and left shoulder and upper abdomen.
Last night I had a few bits of party food with the kids, must be that. I certainly didn't go mad with it at all, but I've just got heartburn now. Took a few Rennie in the night and just going to drink some hot water this morning for a bit. It's painful and tiring I'm shattered now.

Same here. Listened to the fireworks, took sips of hot water and spoons of Gaviscon. The pain was between my shoulder blades and I got a bit concerned about what was causing it, I knew it was not food orientated, heart? COPD? It lasted for a couple of hours and when it eased a bit I was scared to move in case it flared up again. Got a couple of hours sleep but woke up still alive. I am really sleepy today though. Polly X
Yes I've had Gaviscon an Rennie nothing's helping, it's my breastbone and left shoulder, also middle of back. I've had glass of milk and 1/2 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda mixed with water that was the best help. Have hot water bottle, so tired though. I don't usually have heartburn with my GERD. Seeing my specialist tomoro so will ask about it.
I would recommend anyone with those particular symptoms to seek medical advice, especially if you have been having them for a while. Better to be sure than suffer.
I am seeing consultant tomorrow so I'll discuss with her, I suffer with GERD daily so the back pain and shoulder pain isn't uncommon. It's just less burning and more knowing this time.
Sorry to read about your heartburn....I get it sometimes, usually when I'm in bed, it wakes me up and every time I think "this time it's a bloody heart attack" is very frightening isn't it, especially when it's under the breastbone radiating to the shoulder etc....it may be trapped wind? I keep peppermint tea in the cupboard, when it's really bad I take a spoonful of bicarbonate of soda in some water followed by a fizzy drink....it works for me, I hope this suggestion helps...take care x
