I have many questions for you good people ,I'll start with ,I take my spiriva straight after taking fostair ,I sometimes wonder am I taking it the right way round ,or should it be spiriva then fostair ,also the past few days I've done a little experiment with spiriva ,I first took my peak flow which showed 1 30 then I took spiriva on it's own waited twenty minutes took peak flow agian ,the arrow didn't move still 130,looks like spiriva does not do me any good ,ofcourse I took my fostair later then peak flow went up to 180,would be grateful for opinions on this

That's something I've wondered about. I have Spiriva and seretide and wondered if it's better to take one before the other and how long to leave between taking them.

Fostair is in part a drug that not only has steroid in, but also a bronchial dilator, so I’m guessing if you are concerned , the fostair may be better to take first , then the Spireva .Spireva relaxes the smooth muscles in the lungs so prevents spasms, and is long acting (24hrs) , so most likely the spireva would not show the immeadiate difference in your peak flow , as the fostair would xxxx

I have 3 inhalers. With advice from a respiratory nurse my morning routine is :-

Take 2 puffs ventolin. (10 normal breaths in between)

20 mins later 2 puffs Fostair (10 breaths between)

Straight away 2 puffs spiriva (10 breaths between)

Evening is the same but without spiriva.

When you say two puffs of spiriva ,do you use the capsul

It's Spiriva respimat, to use once the capsule is in place it's twist and puff. Not sure if yours is the same. It's measured doses lasts 30 days.

Mine is different ,it is capsule that looks like a pill, it is a powder that you put in a small device click then in hail once a day

I too have 3 inhalers of which ventolin. My previous doctor told me to take 2 puffs every morning. My current doctor says only to use it as and when needed 🤔

My routine is Spiriva (powder) at 6:30 am then Fostair at 7:30 am. I have done this for almost 3 years now and it works for me like that.

I remember quite distinctly that my pulmonologist said I should first use Symbicort (steroid), followed by Spiriva. Several months ago I quit using Symbicort. Can't tell any difference. Still use Spiriva daily. Only occasionally use Ventolin. I believe I'm mild/moderate based on last breathing test about a year ago. My diagnosis was emphysema "with some asthma," to quote my doctor. I didn't really feel like the Symbicort was helping, so I just gave it up. I'll tell doc next time I see her and see what she has to say.
