Working full time...

Hi guys,

Been a long time since I posted, but I'm always reading and learning. I have bronchiectasis and emphasema. We're back in NZ :) back a year now... I was working full time previously but have it up as the condition of the office was too cold and affected my health terribly!

I started a full time job today - after a two month break. which I love! Love the independence!! Love how noone knows I have an illness just a respiratory condition... so I'm treated like a person hahaha... yaas!

It was a struggle though, hell yeah! The heat, the walking arrgghhh - good Lord the walking today!! Not a fan hahahah. I'm 49. My numbers are attached.. Not that crash hot, but hey ah!

My morning regime is: Airvo for 20-30 mins. It's a device that I fill with water, it heats to temperature and I use the nasal device to take- then i clear out gunk. Ventolin with spacer - 1 pump x6 inhalations X2, quvar X2 puffs same as Ventolin, Spiriva reospimat. Weaning off prednisone from 40gm, down to 15mg for three days. Augmentin X3 per day.

Repeat regime for evening but stay on airvo longer up to an hour. Ventolin and Quvar plus antibiotics.

I loved today but struggled with the walking and temperature of the office. I have fans all around me...

Just wanting to know if anyone has similar numbers and is working full time? Any tips you could share?

I'd really appreciate any feedback :)

Thanks

Ana

Kia ora KC1313,

Without air-con, keeping cool is very difficult, I work as well, in a tin can workshop and know how it is, we are working harder to breath, so we get hotter than the healthy. Other than staying in the shade, loose clothing and fans the only other option we have is to move around a little slower and conserve our energy, remember to drink plenty of cold water. Is there any way you could do flexi-time to start/finish a lot earlier.
