I have been taking Spiriva respimat for some years now ..
On seeing my nurse for annual check up I discussed the fact that some days I am taking over my limit on ventolin and other days less
... I know it's swings and roundabouts with us ...
She offered a change of broncodilator to Spiolto Respimat which apparently is supposed to reduce of ventolin.... I am starting it today anyone else use the Spiolto has it helped ...
To be honest I take my ventolin as and when I need it my day this tends to be when barometric pressures are low ... I'm stage 3 copd although the numbers don't matter much to me
it's how I'm feeling that counts... pretty much most days are good as I do walk up 12 km daily some hills included.. but others on the flat .
We do stop for rest periods with the dogs on walks of up to 10 mins for cuddles and treats etc and time spent in the water isn't actually walking ...
So my question is who has changed from Spiriva to Spiolto has it helped in any way or am I just being a Guinea pig for practice nurse 😁

Your Broncodilator is a long acting dilator if it dosent work well enough you will use more salamol/ventolin short acting dilator. So it makes sence to swap your long acting dilator for one that works better for You. This may mean trying different Broncodilators untill you find the right one for you, idealy you wont use your blue inhaler at all. But look to get use down as low as possable while still being active. Good luck lets hope it works for you
Thankyou very aware of the inhalers and how they work ... my question was has anybody been changed from Spiriva to Spiolto ...Did they find a difference..
If so what 😊
I only use more ventolin on rainy stormy days when pressure is low
Yes I have been on spiolto since nov 2019 after been very Ill I was switched from spirivia and I haven’t looked back it’s been a lot easier since then it just the hot days that get me
I changed from Spiriva and fostair to Spiolto. So far so good . My breathing is about the same, my Fev1 a little lower but my skin has much improved as I don’t get the bruising and tears that I had before,Cx
I've been on Spiolto Respimat for some time now, and come to think of it, I must say I do not use my Ventolin inhaler any where as much as I used to. So, I dunno!
I’ve used various and most inhalers, some didn’t help. Now still have Ultibro breezhaler capsules use middle of day and have to Nebulise twice daily with Salbutamol, takes an hour each time, then have to sterilise mask etc. so my day to some degree is dominated by planning for this, and drainage afterwards.
