Today is difficult

Hi all, Today is being a difficult day for me today - this morning had shallow breathing could not get enough air in to my lungs and had to really concentrate to get any thing like a normal breath, This afternoon is worse now I am breathing as normal with deep breaths being the norm. but this is having an effect on the middle of my chest behind the sternum. not sharp pain but a dull pain on breathing in. I suppose it could be something to do with the Atherosclerotic changes in the arch of the Aorta and its branches, but doubt it is as this is a tightness rather than a pressure feeling. Oh well not much I can do about it except keep on keeping on:)

I hope everyone is having a good day today.

Andrew

I hope your breathing is better by now Andy. Do you use the doctors and hospitals in Bahrain? We found them very good. I wonder how they compare to UK for your condition. Lilian xxxx

Yes I have been fortunate to have a very good pulmonary specialist and changed hospitals to ensure continuity. Currently use the Royal Bahrain

Update - things have settled down and the pressure has gone. I will keep an eye on it though and probably see the doc on Saturday when I go for my meds top up. Thanks for the responses as always

Andy, I'm sorry that you are experiencing breathlessness. Horrible feeling. I don't have a lot of symptoms, other than the O2 drops when I walk far or fast. Very seldom, but I do at times feel as if I cannot get a deep breath when the outside temperature is changing. Do you notice more breathlessness/air-hunger when the barometer is moving up or down?

Normally I don't have the problem - just these last few days it has been an issue - I suppose it could be the weather because it is being strange this year. Last year at tjis time we had the annual rain fall bug this year there has nog been any although we have had sand storms and very overcast days. I will be seeing the doc this weekend and see what she has to say. In the meantime I am using the nebulizer twice a day to help.

NB the breathless symptoms are back but the pain is not (yet)

Good, the pain has not returned. My older sis had breathing issues after heart surgery, and she said that she noticed more problems breathing when the barometer was moving. I have noticed this, too. Not a lot to be done about it....where I live there is a joke that if one is bored with the weather, wait five minutes. It could change just that fast. Glad you have some relief.

Hi Andy, my grandson was born in Tenerife and had asthma very early and was so bad when they had sand storms brought in from the Sahara, since they moved to Cardiff last year he has been brilliant, hardly used his inhalers, would you not consider a change of country, of course things are never that simple in life. Hope you start to feel better soon. Irene x

I notice a huge difference when I am back in the UK or even when I visit other places in the world. It is almost as if the problem goes away - I know it doesn't but it is a huge difference.

Thinking of moving out of the region as soon as possible- just need to find a job that pays enough to make viable:)

Oh I how I know, the rate race ties us to the treadmill, I stepped out of that a few years ago, was too stressed out after caring for my Mum and trying too keep a full time job. I dont have the money now but the freedom is priceless, good luck with finding that job.
