It's to stop you coughing intensely and causing any damage

And it makes your coughing more effective.

Well in honesty one thing about using the pillow technic is I'm not collapsing on the floor like I was . Before the cough would take control then out of control and I would black out due to lack of oxygen apparently

The use of pillow has many reason d'être.It spreads the effect of the coughing all over the chest and help preventing pneumothorack.

It makes your coughing more effective,

The pillow coughing had always been used.

Finally get an answer that I can understand . Thank you I asked the oncologist and unfortunately the language barrier got lost in translation . This is the problem dealing with things in a foreign country with people who you don't understand or they don't understand you . Thanks for the information

You understand better than most we have days like this buddy it's just how you feel sometimes. It's not helping because the system out here for dealing with terminal illness is way different and is family participation . I'm alone here so it's a lonely road to travel apart from emails phone calls and on here . My answer to anyone with serious illness if your looking at moving abroad alone don't do it . Seriously don't do it . Having beautiful weather is fantastic but being able to get proper medical treatment and aftercare is more important .

What you say is correct, daveyboy ,I have to take chronic pain 24/7and that turnes into chronic sheer agony. Sure, I have, as my doctor once said, enough pain treatment to fell a horse 🐎 but it only takes away half of the pain,I sleep sitting up,while trying to find a position that's even remotely comfortable. A good night sleep is about two and a half hours.of course it's torture and depressing, but I for one will never give in until I am ready to call it a day.

It's a fine line we walk but we go down the road every day buddy . We have bad days and good it's the life we live .

Now and again, I used to, in hindsight, think I wouldn't have all this, if I hadn't had the heart operation that kicked all of this off.one thing I learned very early on,the heart 💔 sure does not like to be touched 💔 for sure. Still, what is, is.we get on with it.

Well my day went awry! Daughter bought ( I am ashamed of this ) a packet (yes, I know 😱) of brownie mix to do for her pudding! AND, as if that wasn't enough, it's been raining all day! No rain for weeks and weeks, but when I want to go out there🤷‍♀️.It always happens, kids break up and it rains for the rest of the summer!! Hope you are taking it easy now, feet up and relaxing

I used to have 3 idiot proof cake recipes to trot out for fetes, bazaars, school events and visiting relatives. I never mastered scones (except as building blocks) and my sponge cake was strictly cheating. My mother in law was a superb cake cook, so I always felt overshadowed. Rest of her cooking was lousy (meow, meow). She overcooked everything.

Well I'm on a mission I'm hunting down marzipan as my dear friend has challenged me to make a battenburg cake mmm so I've told him to find the marzipan and it's as good as done . The last year in college we were set tasks in cooking and mine was to make a baked Alaska . Well I did it and even though I say it myself perfection . I managed to get a grade 1 CSE for that 😂😂😂😂

Some ingredients are hard to get here . And 90 percent of the cake here is made from semolina.

I am doing everything I have been told but today got a high temperature nausea and sore throat I'm getting a bit worried . My mate is bringing me a couple of COVID tests just in case but leaving them at door just in case and is doing tests himself

Had a temp this morning sore throat nausea then oncologist called me the radiologist who dealt with me tested positive for COVID so waiting for a COVId test

That's not what you need right now davey I really hope you don't get covid on top of your conditions.

Pulmonologist and oncologist both said I'm more risk of worse case scenario because of the condition of my lungs . Hey ho it is what it is keeping everything crossed at moment .

Aww! That’s not nice. I can’t stick it either. It’s a little bit dull here today. The sun does come out but not for long. There’s quite a breeze too. It’s 19.3 by my back door. So nothing like your temperature where you are. I hope it cools down a bit for you soon. It’s coming up to the end of July now. Another couple of months and it should go down a bit. Greeks won't even run their Aircon it's expensive to run electric went through the roof here aswell. Last year summer bills were around 45 to 50 Euro now looking at 250 to 500 euros . A Dutch woman round the corner from me had her Aircon on she got her bill yesterday 1250euros .

Over here you would have got money towards it. The government are giving about £1,000 to people who are disabled or poor.

That’s because electric has soared so high because of the war and Putin. The whole world is suffering because of it.

The money I get covers my medication and rent and obviously food but I'm on a budget this is why I make three days meals because when electric bill or water bill comes in I don't buy food and live out my freezer . I don't get the extra money from government even though I'm in the right benefit catagory

Mine is Snickers Bars, had major abdominal surgery, knew would be 1 week nil by mouth, then1 week liquids, then if OK 1 week pureed food. The surgeon caught sight of a Snickers Bar on my bedside table and went nuts (excuse the nut). He ranted on about the fact I would be going home before I was able to eat this. I politely replied, that it was there for when i could eat pureed food, and I would just suck the chocolate coating off, and keep the nuts for when I got home. So glad I had it there as my first pureed meal, was mashed potatoes (a watery white pile) pureed parsnip (a watery orangey pile) and pureed gammon in a white sauce with herbs (a watery grey pile). Visually disgusting, did not taste much better, so glad for chocolate to lick of the bar.

I'm not into sweet things I'm a pure carnivor 😂 I make cakes for others to enjoy not myself I get the pleasure of making them . I did smoke but trying extreamly hard to stop but I've weened myself to a vape with no nicotine so im a none smoker as the oncologist put it 😂 so my only vice is one small glass of JD in the evening to unwind

The only mountain climbing I'm interested in right now is climbing inside a really nice cool one . Way too hot here. Greeks are even saying it as never been this hot before . Climate change strikes again 😂😂
