Arguing With Lung Doctor

Why WELL 3 rotten inhalers AND nebuliser and standerd atibiotcs is best all lung care involves WELL he said thats best NHS lung care gets and this nothing else.

Well i disagreed AND said if thats what you belive thats whats up with lung care.

So asked him about my IGM antibodes only to be told things are pretty bad on immunty antibody front.

So he was accused of cheaping out by trying other pneumonia jab when clearly ill and need refering to immunty doctor.

Well the said out of 12 point's you need score of 6 to be referd to immunty doctor.

Needless to say i scored 5 and had my January lung clinic appontment canceled.

So guess like other lung dieased WE are going to have to wing it.

Honestly JeffAjaxSmith it's enough to make you want to scream, dont you think. Things are bad enough referral wise at the moment.... just wait until 6 months on and more and our dear NHS is being crippled by too many managers/admin staff etc. I'm glad you have a wealth of information about your illness and can literally put these Doctors to task! Wishing you well.

Oh Jeff that’s awful, he could have pushed the score to a 6 with a personal letter, phone call to the clinic..

I am so sorry..why don’t you phone the helpline and see what they recommend in that case xx

Hi Jas,

This self management thing that we find a challenge can be difficult.Hippocrates over 2000 years ago found thyme oil very helpful for his lung patients. I am also trailing Anicillin (garlic +).

You might want to talk to a top class herbalist. My results so far are promising I am a sceptic but I cannot deny results so far

Which herbalist are you using please? I was using one but just couldn't see any results. I was using a thyme preparation among others.

Hi Lizzab,

In this aspect of alternative therapies to borrow from the Sound of Music "the hills are alive with snake oil salesman/manufacturers".I believe the Lamb family are just about as good as you will find.Brian Lamb has his office in Thurso and Sophie his daughter has a practice in Royal Tunbridge Wells. They are both well qualified and generous with their advice. Just Google either or both to get contact details.

I used garlic for a while, proper garlic cloves, 1 in a tsp of honey 3 times a day, but nowadays my stomach wouldn’t stand it..and my family neither^^

My son in law uses black garlic (buys it at the supermarket), it looks and smells pretty bad, I myself cannot stomach it, but he loves it and claims it has greatly reduced his propensity for respiratory infections. Besides it is much more digestible. I googled it: "From a nutritional point of view, Black Garlic has a much higher content of allicin, the active ingredient in White Garlic that imparts its benefits, but without the odour. Additionally, Black Garlic is rich in amino acids and has almost double the amount of antioxidants when compared to White Garlic."

Please let me know how the Anicillan goes, I have bought some from a reputable herbalist and only just started when my consultant specified Colomycin nebulising for psdeudomonus . I stopped the Anicillan on the advice of the herbalist. Couldn't tolerate the Colomycin and Consultant now wants me to trial Tobermycin! if I cannot tolerate that then I'm thinking back to Anicillan

Hi Angie,

For me the ice is getting a little thin.Sophie Lamb says there are no contraindications with thyme oil and as she suggested Anicillan in conjunction with the oil am assuming that it too has no contra indications but I could be wrong. My inhalers are Seretide 500 and Spiriva. They are no contras with these two but I am not on a course of antibiotics currently.I am due an exacerbation in January (historical) if that doesn't happen I will believe the trial has been a success. However I would NEVER go against my Consultants advice XX

Thanks for the info I too am on spiriva and seretide, I always have a very sore tongue and I believe it's one of these that are to blame for this!

I also like to try out alternative therapies and haven't heard of thyme oil for lung complaints - how do you use it? Have also tried Mullein but didn't find any benefit.

I know sometimes they can take months to see any positive effects so perhaps I have given up too quickly.

Just one thing (having a very different experience of the NHS) the real problem is simply under-funding. If everything else is going up in price but your pay and taxes are not something is wrong - and that hurts the services we depend on.
