Had result from my Bone Scan .... Don't think it is accurate, for years I was diagnosed with Osteoporosis.....Now, I have been told that it is Osteopenia, slight thinning of the bones before getting to osteoporosis !!!

The mind Boggles...Good thing though, I can now continue with my cart wheels....LOL. xxx

You carry on with that cart wheeling but take care.

Pete has osteoporosis in the spine and hips and is awaiting the results of his latest scan. Xxxx

I am having Lung function tests tomorrow and won't see my consultant till 4th Dec., I shall bring this to her attention and the extreme amount of Hospital paperwork saying I have Osteoporosis. Didn't think things like this could reverse, But then I am breathing a lot better after PR sessions...Hope Pete is coping with this. xxxx Carolina XXX

Bone density scan apparently is the proper scan for this. I had CT on my thorax done and it showed osteopenia, but bone density scan showed I didn't.

It can reverse Hacienda - my spine was a bit better on last dexa scan. Hip worse though.

Hello Hacienda, I have a freind with Osteopenia she has an injection once every six months which is supposed to prevent progression to osteoporisis. But everyone is different, I know another lady who had tablets which seemed to improve their bone density results, my late mum had tablets too for diagnosed osteoporisis. Good luck we all loose some bone density with age as long as it is not too much too fast then it is normal.

Thank You Katie,

I take Calcichew for the Bones, and Paracetamol for pain, I will talk with my Consultant next week, Yes all to do with aging, the worst time of ones life , but we have to get on with it, hence why I exercise so much,( for my Lungs). Being very Sporty all my Life, I may well have overdone it with the old Bones in the early Years, from Bungi jumping, water and snow Ski-ing...The Body talks back and says "Slow Down Mrs", I have now Learnt to take things much more slowly. xxx

Yes Hacienda it is about aging to some degree, I have a few damaged bones from passed injuries, but am told my bone density is very good. The arthritis however is a different matter the bones are showing distorion now , so like yourself I do things much slower than in my teenage years and less per day, remember the tortoise and the hare !!! so steady and slower is the way to get there with lesser stress on your limbs & lungs. Enjoy your evening, hope to speak to you again soon. xx
