So tired

I know I have lung problems and I am not a spring chicken but I cannot get over this fatigue. Not going anywhere I am so tired. Would it be worth asking for a thyroid test. My dad had underactive thyroid. Is it a family thing?

It would be a good idea to see your GP. There are so many reasons for tiredness. Blood tests could be done to rule out thyroid problems, and to find any other problems. What meds are you on? How is your appetite? Good luck - Pergola x

Hi thyroid can run in families so it would definitely be worth getting it checked out. The main symptoms of it are weight gain and fatigue. There are other symptoms if you google it. A female friend of it also had a small lump on her Adams apple which is how she was diagnosed. Let us know how you get on. x

Weight gain and fatigue if you're thyroid is underactive.

I didn't mean google indiscriminately but visit the NHS site and other recognised ones for more info. It isn't always heredity as my mother had it but her mother didn't and neither do I or any of my sisters. x

ask GP for a full blood test including thyroid, just had one myself because of tiredness and lethargy and for me it was a vitamin D3 deficiency, hopefully it will put your mind at rest
