Trace of blood in urine

I was diagnosed with a kidney infection earlier this month and was prescribed antibiotics, started to feel better at the end of the course but I’m still having the burning sensation down below and feel I need to wee 24/7, I went back to the GP done another urine sample and she said there’s a trace of blood ( not from the naked eye only by the dip stick test) and ti wait for the results to come back from the lab, she said it’s common after a infection hut should I be worried? As feeling I need to wee constantly is driving me crazy, any suggestions or help be great.

I often have traces of blood during an infection and if it’s a bad one it can be very visible. Drink plenty and I always drink a litre o Cranberry juice too. Also avoid tomatoes, Citrus Foods, chocolate and alcohol. Hope you feel better soon.

I find the Boots Cystitis sachets very good for lowering the acidity of the urine or 1/4 TSP baking soda in glass of water. I use a dash of squash as it tastes foul. Hot water bottle and paracetamol. It's the classic waiting game now for results from the lab. You may end up with more antibiotics 😏. I have IC so you have my complete sympathy! Gentle hugs X
