Urodynamics

Hi so i have received my appointment for urodynamics testing. Has anyone had this done and was it helpful? My issue is frequent urination. I am currently on mira begron tablets.

HiI'm sorry I've not been on for a while

I'm waiting to have a urodynamics test. I have to self cathiterize as I can't wee without catheter unless I'm bursting and then it will just come but I have to finish off with a catheter. My urologist thinks my bladder muscles aren't working but wants me to have the test to make sure. . Do you have lower abdominal pain and pain in the pubic area? I am struggling because I've got many conditions causing me pain. Do you have other conditions? What date is your test? My consultant told me there is a 3-4 month wait in our area because they only started up again in March.

Hi ive had it done a few times and "due" to have a re'test sometime over the Rainbow and far far away! Well you know how it is!.

It's only as good as the person doing/reading the results though.

Last one was done at UCLH your connected wirelessly then sent off on your way round hospital to keep drinking fluids the head back when need to empty they then sort of read you in real time as opposed to just sitting there till sploodge!.

Lady looking didn't see/find much but head guy twigged on something then pulled it apart on touch screen monitor and could see some over activity he said!.

But over activity is a Broad term as so many things can cause it?

Hi Macey2009, yes I have had this done a few times. Nothing to worry about and does help with diagnosis. Its to do with emptying the bladder to see if there are any abnormalities etc.

I had a very comprehensive scan and examination which lasted for two hours. There were two consultants, a specialist nurse and health care assistant. They ran four separate scans and came to a conclusion as to what the cause of the problem is. It wasn't a particularly pleasant experience, but necessary to establish the best way forward. Hi so i've had the test. Not the most pleasant experience. I have been prescribed Tamsulosin. The dr said it was something to do with the sphincter. And to have a follow up in 6 weeks.
