Awaiting ECG results

In February I had an episode of chest pain radiating into neck and jaw followed by passing out. Blood works came back fine but had an ECG last week where they asked me if I was having chest pain in that moment otherwise I couldn't leave and said that the results were going back to GP as an urgent referral.

I have bad anxiety as it is although felt fine on the day of ECG, 1 week later had a GP appointment as feeling really stressed and keep having palpitations, tight chest followed by dizziness.

She listened to my heart and lungs said all sounds fine and is putting it down to stress and anxiety.

Is there a reason why the hospital would say it needs to go back as an urgent referral but GP thinks nothing wrong?

It's possible there just double checking that everything is ok, and sometimes stress and anxiety can cause alot of similar symptoms to heart problems. I have heart problems and anxiety and stress issues and depression so it's like what is what anymore! Really hope everything is ok and that they look in to this properly before assuming anything x

You have hit on a typical problem with an ECG. Ut only shows a problem if it happens during the trace. I was having short, random, episodes of erratic heart rates. My GP did an ECG in the surgery, which I knew would be fine because I did not have an episode whilst I was there. A few days later my "short" episode went on for 22 hours and after 2hrs I was in A&E in full blown A.Fib., which did show up on the ECG.

So it could be that the h ospital saw something that did not show up later. If you haven't done so already it might be worht asking your GP what the hospital saw that she couldn't detect.
