Reducing 10mg Bisoprolol to 7.25mg – has anyone had any problems?

Also on 10mg Apixaban and 200mg Amiodoran.

Hello, you do not say why you are reducing or if advised by dr or not. I had a cardioversion last Wednesday and back in NSR HR dropped to mid 40’s and blood pressure was up to 100/68 when I left hospital, but as so low EP said to drop bisoprolol from 10mg to 2.5mg immediately. Resting HR still that low (not checked BP), but not feeling great, tired and with occasional ’burning’ feeling around the head. Moving it goes up. sent Q to EP on HR, he responded I should start to see it creep up after 3 days (not yet), but he said not to be concerned. I feel similar to when I started taking Bisop in Nov last year, so hopefully will adjust in s few weeks (and that AF does not come back too quickly).

Thank you for replying – doctor suggested reducing as I am plagued with dizzy spells… my opinion is that its side effects/interaction with the Bisopropol and Amiodorane. GP obviously reluctant to alter anything until I see Cardio surgeon, then cardiologist in a month…all advice tells you to consult GP if suffering effects such as dizziness, but little advice forthcoming!

Check if your GP surgery has a pharmacy team, mine does as well as a cardio nurse who can prescribe, I have found talking to them very helpful.

Thank you for your advice…did speak to a cardio nurse on Friday, who had ordered a 24h holter ECG a couple of weeks ago (all ok): she said she'd email results to doc (which one forgot to ask) and mention dizzy spells again. Got the impression she was reluctant (understandably) to fiddle with medication too…

GP had previously said just have to wait to see cardiologist so…

But thanks again, may well just ring to widen understanding.
