Does anyone know how long it takes for the effects of amiodarone to wear off . I stopped taking it in March but I still getting sunburnt even when sitting in the shade and applying sum cream factor 50. Another query, sorry, but I noticed from previous posts that you have been weaned off Bisoprolol gradually. In March my cardiologist stopped my dose of 10mg and put me straight on to Veramil the next day. This didn’t suit me so in June he swapped this for Dialtizem again straight away. This seems a bit drastic considering some of the posts I have been reading. Has this happened to anyone else?

Amiodarone can take many months to leave the body. I guess the length of time for each person can vary. When I took it the sun had no effect on me whatsoever.

I knew someone who took it for something like 8 years, he didn't read the instructions and no one had mentioned staying out of the sun. He just had what I would call a ruddy complexion.

I suppose as you say it varies from person to person. I still seem to get burnt even when in the shade. I am OK at the moment though with this unsettled weather!

I had bisopralol immediately after my heart attack. It dropped my BP so low I couldn't function so I was taken off it, instantly, just stopped with no problems at all.
