Are you on a beta blocker? They're more known for vivid dreams than statins.

(I get them from my anti-depressants. I can't say I'm much of a fan of vivid dreams, but they're a lot better than having depression. 🤷 )

What other meds are you on, as statins are not especially known for the effects you describe.

Hi there, I've been on Atorvastatin for 5 years along with Bisoprolol & a few others. I was originally told to take the statin at 10 pm as they work best when we are asleep apparently, I was warned if my dreams get too wild to take them in the morning. Initially I had very vivid dreams particularly of a sexual nature (I was warned of this type of dream). As time has gone on I just get what I would describe as normal dreams, all be it very bizarre sometimes with people from my distant past

I must ask my Dr to change my statin to Atorvastatin 😀

I didn’t know it was recommended to take them at night, my GP said it’s okay to take them anytime. I take mine in the morning when I take most of my other medications. My blood pressure has reduced and I don’t have nightmares from taking statins.

I started on Simvastatin years ago and immediately began having strange dreams, not nightmares, just bizarre. After some months this effect just disappeared. Since then my statin has been changed by one cardiologist to Atorvastatin, and then for no obvious reason by another cardiologist to Rosuvastatin. Neither of these has had any effect on my dreams, and have no other side effects either. I always take them at night when cholesterol production is highest.

I've been on rousavastin for years but it's only since I've been on Bisoporsol for the last 5 months that I've had what I would describe as weird dreams, not nightmares, just random stuff unrelated to anything in my day to day life.

I get some absolute corkers of dreams. The other night Kris Marshall was my boss and staying with my cousin in Somerset 🙃.

Been like it ever since my NSTEMI in November 2022 and I started on the standard cocktail of meds. I was on Bisoprolol for a short while but the dreams have continued since.

Not so much scary, but seriously weird at times. 😂

I was put on 80mg Atorvastatin immediately after my heart attack. I suffered from vivid dreams and nightmares which I put down to trauma rather than the medication. After a couple of years my GP reduced my statin dose to 40mg. I had either got use to or forgotten about the dreams until my cardiologist increased the dose back to 80mg. The nightmares started again. A year on I still have vivid dreams but not as bad as before.
