I have just been prescribed RelosorbXL 60mg for possibly stable angina which was surprising as I have never had any pains. My symptoms are breathlessness on exertion and chest heaviness which settles quickly with rest. I was prescribed half tablet 30mg daily. On the first day of taking the tablet I had mild symptoms of indigestion which I could not decide was due to something I had eaten. On day 2 I was confronted with massive bowel emptying and this was followed slowly with a bout of indigestion which was much more uncomfortable than the previous day and far worse than chest discomfort after exertion. There is no mention of such side effects in the prescription leaflet other than bowel movement. I have suffered from indigestion in the past but this is being controlled by occasional Lansoprazole 15mg medication. Has anyone had similar experiences and how have they had it resolved? Meanwhile I have stopped my RelosorbXL treatment until I can get another appointment to discuss the matter with some knowledgeable person at the GP practice.

it might be a good idea to get an urgent appointment. It’s unwise to stop cardiovascular medication, but of course you arent absorbing it anyway. This could be a stomach problem such as norovirus or giardiasis or whatever. Suggest you phone 111
