Hi all

Hope you are doing well today. I have posted many times ref difficulties with BP meds and thank everyone for their help. However I am no further forward and at my wits end. Has anyone managed to get their BP to a normal level naturally ? Would be grateful for any advice please. Seeing GP tomorrow

Thanks !

I was able to in my 40s with a combination of diet and exercise and weight loss. Attempts later in life not so successful, but I probably cut corners with my diet and exercise. If so motivated, it's certainly worth a try..

Thanks Jim as I have said to others the usual problems don't apply to me. Never had weight problems or smoke or drink. Will speak to GP yet again tomorrow. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

It might be worthwhile trying diet if you're motivated to go drug free. But I'm not referring to weight loss diet, but a low sodium diet and possibly lower carbs as well. What did it for me? Was the stage one of the South Beach diet to give you a reference point. You can Google it and see what I ate that and combined with about an hour of aerobic exercise a day.

Thanks Jim. That is so interesting I had intended to lower carbs anyway as I now have to be careful due to Irbesartan meds. I saw GP yesterday and my BP is now too low and the recommendation is to take meds alternate days. Will certainly look in to that diet as I am now struggling as to what to eat. Thanks again all the best to you.

I stopped BP meds after my CABGx2, and through diet and exercise to keep it in the normal range. My high BP was associated with 90% blockage in my LAD and 70% blockage in my Right artery.

I have got blood pressure pills down a lot, I still take Bisoprolol 2.5 mg (mainly for AF but it does lower BP) and Ramipril. I found low salt and nil alcohol plus regular excercise and certainly weight loss dropped my BP to acceptable figures.

Thanks Motorman very pleased for you.I am not sure I can do much myself. I don't drink or smoke exercise regularly and weigh 7 1/2 stone. Diet is good so maybe worrying about medication is the problem!

not cut out the pills completely but certainly much reduced. I developed hypertension about twenty years ago. My diet and exercise regime was already good, though a little overweight.

I haven’t changed anything much so I’m not entirely sure why my pressures gradually went down.

Thanks for your response and glad to hear your BP reduced. Maybe you stopped worrying about it ? Don't think I can do much more I am verging on underweight now. Exercise don't drink or smoke either.Possibly worry too much but hard not to !
