If you are taking any medication it's best to talk to a pharmacist if you are considering taking any supplements in case of any interactions.

Basically you must run it by a pharamacist, GP or cardioklgist as much depemds on your exact doianopsis and current medications. For instance I am prescribed Vitamin D as my levels are low as I cannot get out and about much, The GP has no objection to Vitamin C (not mega-dose as it offers no benefits and goes to drain) as it potentially reduces blood vessel irritation a precurssor to plaque formation. Turmeric is a no-no as on daily Aspirin but also with any blood thinner or anti-coagulant.

Interesting, Michael. I’d taken turmeric once but thought it might be a gimmick . And too expensive. I don’t think there was any info on the box about interactions with aspirin, which I take. Thanks for the info.

It is mentioned under Herbal Remedies on the NHS website entry on Aspirin.

Interesting. Doesn’t seem to mention specific herbal remedies.

Turmeric is in the last sentence.

as has been said. What might be better and certainly cheaper is have a look again at your diet and if you want to incorporate turmeric then that’s easily done. And eat an extra orange!

If you need vitamin C, it would be better to eat more fruit and veg, for the other benefits, like fibre,
