Waiting to see cardiologist for 4 months now ,but while i, ve been waiting i,ve still been getting strange feelings in chest area , went to see the gp today and he has increased the dosage of my bisoprolol from 2.50 to 3.75 , was diagnosed with At Fib in 2018 , but last year things got more noticeable, ectopic beats as well that's when they started putting me on 1.25 bisoprolol struggled with it ,they took me of it ,half the dose at times , then put me back on it, settle down for a while then in November they up it to 2.50, but now today they the gp increased it to 3.75. I know i,m going to struggle with this dose, i.e light headedness and other things. Gp said if i start getting these effects , come back down to 2.5. Asked how long more will i have to wait and see cardiologist, he just sort of shrugged his shoulders.Just need to know if any one else has gone from 2.5 Bisoprolol to 3.75 and did they really notice any change in side effects.

increase in bisoprolol from2.5 to 3.75
I’ve recently had my Bisoprolol increased from 5 mg to 6.25. I got nausea and a dry mouth as side effects when I was on 1.25 mg and the increase doesn’t seem to have made it any worse, and the side effects are still just about the same. But we are all different.
I recently went from 2.5 to 3.75 to try a bring my pulse rate down, it worked, I dropped from 82 down to 77 so I'm expecting the dose to be put up to 5 to reduce it a bit more, cardiologist wants to get it to 67 eventually. I was told that I would feel a little bit "out of sorts" for a week or two whenever I increased my doses but it would settle down. I just felt a bit more tired and lethargic to start with but back to normal now.
I had a GP Pharmacist from Heaven. She was superb. Basically she said no one knows your body better than you do. We talked about Bisoprolol at great lengths after my GP wasn't too sure what dosage was best for me. I was on 5mg. 2.5 twice a day. That dosage made me feel ill. In the end we reduced it to 2.5 in the morning and 1.25 in the early evening. After a bit of tinkering that turned into 1.25mg 3 times a day. 9 am, 3 pm and 9 pm. Fast forward to August last year and an MRI showed I hadn't had a heart attack in the first place but my cardio suggested I continue with Bisoprolol as a safety net.
I have since cut the dosage to 1.25 twice a day.
Suggest you speak with your GP pharmacist. They know an awful lot more about meds and their effect than the GP's do.
I went from 2.5mg to 5mg with no side effects
If Bisoprolol causes you issues (which it seems to do for some people, while others are fine), you could ask to try something else. There are various beta blockers that could be used to slow your rate. Nebivolol for example may have various advantages over Bisoprolol. One of these is that it has a smoother delivery profile (so its effect is more constant over the day, rather than a big peak and taper off). I didn’t even have any real issues with Bisoprolol, but my GP still let me switch to Nebivolol on request.
I didn't take 2.5mg Bisoprolol very well. I was switched to twice daily 3.125mg Carvedilol instead, which I seem to tolerate much better!
