Muscle aches on Bisoprolol

I have just had my Bisoprolol dosage increased from 2.5 to 5 then dropped down again to 3.75 due to extreme exhaustion on the higher dose. I am now suffering with muscle aches and pains which are so bad they make me cry. Is this a side effect of the drug. palms of my hands are also inflamed and peeling. Was prescribed the medication for svt.

Oh that sound awful!! , and so u comfortable for you. I'm on bisoprolol due to a HA 12 weeks ago. So far I havnt had any problems? Are you on any other medication? Perhaps thete might be an interaction?

oh Kathryn - I agree with Doora that sounds really awful for you. My suggestion is that you call your prescribing medic & chat with them - I was on Bisoprolol & had some horrid side effects - they reduced my dose & now I'm fine, also I do know that we all take different lengths of time for the body to get used to changes and there are lots of different meds so please talk to someone & don't just put up with it - good luck!

I'm on the same dose of Bisoprolol but I take 1.25mg AM and 2.5mg PM. Maybe see if you can split yours into 2 doses.

I was on 1.25 mg but have spent a year being very breathless. Cardiologist said stop for two weeks. After 3 days I feel so much better. He had advised start again after two weeks but I don't want to.

I've been on 2.5mg for many years mostly for Atrial Fibrillation but as far as I'm aware the only side-effect is a feeling of tiredness or slowing down which can be overcome. Also it contributes to a degree of hypo-tension, e.g. a short spell of dizziness if rising from squatting, say, too rapidly. I hope you're symptoms improve. Don't hesitate to go back to your GP/Cardiologist. They will want to get it right for you.
