Been off Bisoprolol for a week after recommendation by Gp untill they get results from 24 hr monitor test, was having reactions to the bisoprolol. Been off it for a week i felt better untill today , had strange feelings in chest , light headedness , short of breath, first time i,ve had this reaction since coming of bisoprolol, feel tired. Woke up this morning being angry and getting stressed out due to things at work and other things. I have A fib, was put on bisoprolol low dose due to high blood pressure, want to know if this happens to anyone else who has been on Bisoprolol then came off it.

feel lousy after coming of Bisoprolol
Did you do it gradually.as coming off any medication needs to be carefully done in my opinion of course
You say a low dose of Bisoprolol, but how low is low? I was given 2.5 mg of Bisoprolol and was on it for two and a half years, when they reduced the dose to 1.25 mg. I had no problems in reducing it, I just stopped getting too low BP.I appreciate that my experience is different, I'm still on it, but it seems to me that opinions differ according to which doctor is talking to you. Some think the dose I take is so low it can't have much impact, others regard it as a powerful drug and prescribe it with caution.
I had been on 2.5mg for four years when I was advised to simply stop by my cardiologist, supported by GP and pharmacist. It's a horrible thing to come off but the withdrawal effects stopped completely for me after about 2 weeks and feel 100% better off it than on it.
You've been on a drug that blocks the beta receptors in the heart, that are now having to relearn how to deal with the adrenaline you naturally produce through the day. End result can be temporary racing heartbeat/palpitations, feelings of dizziness, light-headedness and sometimes anxiety. These are all VERY short term and will go in almost no time. If you feel dizzy or like your heart is trying to run away from you, just sit and rest for a moment and the sensations will pass.
Thanks I,ll take that on board
I agree with the above and that it can take a while for the heart to settle without it & you may get weird things happen meanwhile. I take extra magnesium on these occasions, and do all the time now take magnesium daily. Magnesium bisglycinate powder is my go to during worse bouts of AF or anything else.
not to me. I just stopped taking it. But I don’t have a fib. Hope it gets sorted!
Talk to your GP.It is possible your dose should have been reduced and then stopped.
came off 2.5 a few weeks ago after a decade on it . I experienced strange fizzing for five days as my body readjusted. This was put down to adrenaline increase . My pulse oximeter reading also showed a two point improvement in oxygen level . I also had fizzing in my hands and toes as blood supply improved. Some anxiety, but then there is with change anyway. One other strange effect was much sharper colour vision ( no I don’t drink )
It should be fine .
