Not doing well with Atenolol for breathlessness going up slopes. Blurred vision lead to a fall a week ago and now have painful ribs. Hospital review this morning. Hope I can discontinue beta blockers... Any comments?

I’m sure you are going to discuss your medication so that the experts can decide whether a tweak is a good idea.
Sorry to hear about this. I had an NSTEMI in ‘21 & one of the meds I came out with was Atenolol. However after a recent hospital stay the cardiologist replaced it with Bisoprolol as that is more cardio selective
I’m on 10mg daily of Bisoprolol & I think it’s the same with most beta blockers but I can’t exercise as vigourously as before. I recently bought a fitness watch to monitor my HR especially during parkruns.
Hopefully your meds will be reviewed.
Thanks for response. Have now been taken off beta blockers pending a CT scan. Feeling much better!
