hello I went New York 4 weeks after I had stent ( 7/30 min ) I was terrified thinking about having read stuff on the internet saying need to keep active on plane but I asked my consultant and he reassured me you can fly after a week of having stent fitted so and he was right flight no problem I relaxed for return flight nothing to be worried about we walked around New York and had a fantastic time ( walked 45 miles in 5 days no problem at all ) nothing to be worried about have a great time

understand your concern but you should be absolutely fine. The only reason not to do it is is if your doctor has advised against it. Take your meds and drink plenty of water. Get up when you can and wear compression socks.

I flew to Egypt, so not quite long haul, 6 weeks after a STEMI HA and stent and have flown long haul twice in the two years since as well as numerous short haul flights. No problem at all physically. My only issue was a bit of anxiety (of the "what if something happens mid Atlantic?" variety). This was compounded by a six hour delay on one of the return long hauls after the plane we were due to fly on was diverted to Newfoundland on its outward journey due to a medical emergency! A plane over the middle of the Atlantic could probably get you to hospital quicker than calling an ambulance at the moment though, so probably not worth worrying about!
