Hi I am 3 weeks post heart attack and in the main doing well. However on a couple of occasions during the night have experienced what I can only describe as cold sweats. I am feeling cold but perspiration is pouring from me. It doesn't last long and I feel ok once it settles. Has anyone else experienced this or knows what causes it? Thank you

COLD SWEATS

Hi I’m sorry to hear you have had a difficult time, but glad you are now doing well. It could be you are suffering from anxiety. I wake some nights soaked in perspiration but have cold hands & feet. I am a very anxious person & do have some health issues. My mind goes into overdrive when I am in bed & it probably goes on when I’m asleep as well. You have been through a scary time. However, always get new symptoms checked out. Have you tried some mindfulness exercises? - deep breathing & meditation etc.
Best wishes for a happy Christmas & and a healthy New year.
Yes, the nights can be very difficult when the brain decides to visit with some scary scenarios. I found on youtube if you search for calming music there are specific tracks which you can play low volume all through the night even when you doze off, your brain is still listening.I have found this helpful and hope you do too.
Hi there. I have heart failure and one of my symptoms before having a new mechanical Aortic valve was sweating from my waist down to my toes. I thought it was because of my running and health routine. See your doctor. It’s good that the water is coming out of the body. Just get a bed protector the bed suffers as well
I had the same for many months post surgery , it went away by its self But should be checked by your hospital cardiac team as it can be a sign of endocarditis
Ooh I had that for a couple of years after my heart attack. I never did find out what caused it. I would wake up absolutely soaking but only my upper chest, face and neck. My pillow and PJs would be soaked
