Cold Feet

There have been some discussions recently about cold feet and various medications and I just wanted to share that I too have cold feet and sometimes hands.

I am on a plthora of medications and awaiting cagb but the point to the post is that last week I bought an "electric hot water bottle" from that well known online retailer.

What an absolute wonder, not messy, no actual water, hot in a few mins, boiling in 10, pocket to put hands (or feet) in, says hot for hours. Around £18, so impressed that I bought another - one for each foot! I also found that some of my cold feet is actually cold knees and thighs.

Not associatted with any retailer or product - just wanted to share!

Thank you gor sharing. I'm on 5mg Bisoprolol and cold hands, feet and nose!! It's horrible, our heating bill is through the roof! I bought an electric heated throw which I wrap round when watching tv. It's wonderful and very cheap to run. Roll on summer :))

Yes our heating bills are massive because of how cold I get …I’m 75 …illness not taken into account when Rachel Reeves took Winter fuel allowance away…

I had the same issue on Bisoprolol, my consultant changed my prescription to Adizem and the cold hands, feet and dripping nose have gone. Neither tablets haven't made a difference. I've had 2 ablations, I'm on Rivaroxaban, Adizem and a Statin but still get episodes every other day. I'm now waiting for an appointment with another consultant for a 2nd opinion.

Hi PaulSax, I'm not on Bisoprolol but I do get the cold hands and feet and the runny nose.

Good luck with the second opinion, I think it is always worth persuing when things don't seem right.

So you had a beta blocker replaced by a calcium channel blocker. I’m curious as these are different drugs for different conditions?

Hi SuddenShock, I, too, have cold feet, in fact they are like two blocks of ice, my legs are a bit cold too. I bought an electric throw and it's brilliant, even on the lowest setting. I'm nice and cosy when relaxing or watching television on my sofa. Take care.

I found out that my legs were also cold after I tried to warm my feet, I moved the water bottle around in bed and got a good nights sleep at last. The other benefit is that the hot water bottle is portable, I can take it with me (pre heated) when I change rooms or even visit friends

Thanks for the recommendation,I’m going to have a look for it. I bought a normal hot water this year but this one sounds better. I like the idea of pockets. As others have said I use an electric throw .

I bought one for my mum as she really feels the cold and it wouldn't be safe for her to try and fill a hot water bottle, she loves it, puts her hands in it when she is watching telly. I would also recommend. Char

I have suffered from cold hands and feet ever since I was a child. Playing rugby at school was a nightmere, my hands would turn blue and the games teacher would scream at me for dropping the ball. . About 5 years ago I started Candisartan (only 2mg/day) as my blood pressure was starting to go up. Ever since taking it my hands and feet have been much warmer and more comfortable. A much appreciated side effect after 67 years of frozen extremities!
