Always cold .... ?

I am always cold - hands and feet like blocks of ice ... all the time. I have taken to wearing a jacket, hat and thick socks indoors. Contemplating wearing my MacWet gloves as well. Any suggestions how I can improve this as it is really annoying?

Love the username! Yes cold hands and feet are a 'thing'.

Me, I wear two pairs of socks all the time, one normal, one fluffy heat things. fingerless gloves everywhere. Hot water bottle during the day and electric blanket in bed. Try to keep your legs/feet elevated as much as possible. sometimes a warm bucket of water for the feet to soak in helps and sort of clenching of hands and feet to get movement in them and ciruclation going.

You dont say what your diagnosis is or any meds you are on and obviuosly I am not in any shape or form a medical expert - not even amateur! Thats what works for me.

My feet and hands are always dead cold I take warfarin and carvedilol beta blockers and these are the side effects but I did raise it with my heart failure nurse maybe you can talk to your gp/nurse/consultant

I have the same issue and also raynauds where my fingers turn white/yellow. The only thing I have found that helps is a good walk. 1-2 miles and my feet warm up and stay warm for a good while after as well. In general exercise helps with most circulation issues. Good luck.

I am the same - side-effect of warfarin and beta blockers, it is annoying. The only solution I’ve found is exercise. Circulation is the key here - seated exercises would work if you’re not up for a few press-ups. Talk to your GP about getting a programme together that matches your profile - good luck 😊

Yes my husband is the same. He finds a foot hot water bottle is the best thing ( I got his in John Lewis but I think Amazon do them) It seems that if his feet and neck ( cyclists neck warmers here) are warm then the rest isn’t too bad. I think it’s a feature of beta blockers. Not sure there’s an easy solution

I assume you're on beta blockers?

Anyway, I have a similar problem but mostly in the winter, I find physical exercise sorts it but in the evenings it can be a problem (can't stay on the treadmill all night), and I use an electrically heated cushion with pockets for hands or feet, works a treat!

I'm sitting here with a vest top and jumper topped off with a dressing gown! As well as trousers, I also have socks and fluffy "animal" slippers. I am working from home and my desk is positioned in my bay window looking out into the street. Everyone going past is in "summer" atire and I am frozen!

I know mine is caused by bad circulation and extremely low blood pressure caused by a concoction of diaretics and beta blockers! The tips of my fingers are currently blue! Unfortunately because if breathlessness I can't walk far and worry that if I go for a walk alone, I may get stuck and be a burden to someone so tend to stay indoors.

So, an update - I am on Beta Blockers - 3.75mg Bisopropol and now understand that cold hands and feet are something I will just have to deal with. I did get myself some fingerless compression gloves .... they don't really help that much.

I can deal with the cold by putting on more clothes but nothing seems to work on my feet .... thus, I will look at getting a foot warmer of some kind.
