increased hunger on bisoprolol

Hello!

So, I have cardiomyopathy and muscular dystrophy! I had been on atenolol for 10 years and was switched to bisoprolol back in July. I’ve definitely had some issues with it, low blood pressure, coldness etc but I have also been having this insane hunger. Now with my stomach issues, I never used to have a big appetite, but now I’m having to ensure I have something every few hours (which isn’t easy as I have swallow issues!) and it will be an instant starving feeling that if I ignore makes me feel quite unwell and I do feel flutters in my heart!

I’m being reviewed by my gastro doctors next week but I have to say the timing aligns perfectly with the switching of my beta blocker! Can u ask if anybody has experienced this or knows if this can happen?? I’m finding it quite debilitating and hard to manage with all my other issues!

I was on Bisoprolol briefly. I experienced the opposite. I didn’t get hunger signals. I needed to eat regularly but didn’t feel hunger.

Been in Bisoprolol since July 2023, came out of hospital post Nstemi heart attack and quadruple bypass 84kg swollen with fluids, eventually lost that weigh, held at 79kg for a while , now 76.5kg . No weight gain , the opposite.
