Hi just wondering if anyone has had similar issues. I have been on all sorts of medication since my heart attack last Nov. I recently tried to put my repeat prescription in but it wouldn’t let me order due to needing a review. I couldn’t get an appointment for a review even after telling them I was going to run out of Bisoprolol. This ended up with me not having any for a week. At the time I felt fine but since going back on after a week I have been having chest pain and tiredness. Don’t know if this has been caused by not taking the medication for a week or is it causing side effects going back on it after a week off?

Hi. I came off bisoporol but had to be weaned off it gradually over several weeks because you can get a rebound effect. It shouldnt be stopped suddenly and perhaps that’s what you experienced. Best to mention to your GP. Also when I’ve run out of medication as long as it’s on your records your pharmacist should be able to give you an emergency supply. Mine does. Hope this helps.

Hi Vic that certainly makes sense and I didn’t know that about the Phamacy, so thanks for that it’s a big help.

Hi. Should never come off drugs immediately without prior discussion from GP/consultant, so I'm sorry that you were forced to do that. I came off Bisporol with no side effects. I'm back on again and I think they definately make me tired. As someone else mentioned as long as you can show the pharmacy the box of tablets (empty) they will 'loan you the drugs'. I think you need to use a pharmacy that has previously dispensed for you. I only found this out recently having ran out of GTN spray 🙃 good luck with everything.
