Been on Amlodipine for 10 months. Went from 10mg.down to 2mg.Horrible side effects.Pounding heartbeat on all dosages.Chest ache.Arrythmia.Worsened GERD. Anxiety through the roof. Did lower BP but sometimes raised it? Muscle pain. Headaches.Other symptoms.Eventually told to come off it a week ago by Consultant at FDEC at Hosp.as I'm 73.She said to take 1.25mg Bysoprolol.

Well 24hrs.after stopping Amlodipine pounding heartbeat stopped. Now none at all.Arrythmia much less as well as chest ache.

Anxiety much better as not in pain ! What more proof is needed.

Only problem is HB now too low but one thing at a time. All in all feel better already.

First thing the AF nurse at the clinic did was take me off Amlodipine as my lower legs swollen. And said wish GPs would stop prescribing it as they always took patients off it as it causes more harm than good.

I was also taken off Amlodipine due to swollen ankles I couldn’t wear my trainers and now I’m on Candesartan 8mg and Indapamide 1.5mg. My blood pressure is now the lowest I’ve ever had it 120/80
