I recently got diagnosed with persistent AF and Heart Failure (EF 30%). I've been prescribed a number of meds to help and was advised by cardiologist to keep exercising but just not to over exert myself.
Before I started taking my meds I would be able to run 1k as a gentle jog. Since starting my meds I now find that after a short while into my run I get palpitations and feel out of breath. I stop and everything returns to normal.
I was wondering if this could be caused by any of my new meds or just my low EF. New meds are:
Apixaban 5 mg
Dapagliflozin 10mg
Spironolactone 25mg
sacubitril valsartan 2 x 25mg
I was already taking Bisoprolol 2.5mg

Not sure of your condition as it is different to mine....however....with a couple of dodgy valves and 'so said' heart failure my GP and Cardio. want me to exercise as much as I can at 86.That is quite a lot..Seated Zumba once weekly, seated boxing with no music ,dancing or perhaps I shouldl say an active fast shuffle but for an hour and another couple of exercise classes every other week or so. I also walk daily and look after self and husband plus go to social and learning classes but so far this regime seems to work for me. Obviously you must be guided by your docs .I do 'rest up' and get into bed by 9.30-10 and cralw out of bed at about 8ish.I do not sleep right through as I do wake in the night .
