Interesting. It implies that in angina without coronary athersclerosis, aspirin is not necessarily indicated. I will discuss this with my cardiologist.

I personally would not rely on this article as to whether aspirin is appropriate to take if you have a diagnosis of microvascular or vasospastic angina.

There is still some uncertainty about what the best treatment options are for people living with microvascular and vasospastic angina.

I have been prescribed another antiplatelet, as my frequent episodes of coronary vasospasms could prevent the smooth flow of the blood through my arteries increasing my risks of a heart attack or stroke.

I am also admitted with unstable angina/ acute coronary syndrome once or twice a year.

Interesting article. I can't say that I've seen junior aspirin in my local boots though? What dosage per tablet are we talking of here?

75mg. It's prescription-only here in Ireland because too many people were taking it thinking "if it's good for people at risk it must be good for me too".

I've been taking Boots own brand 75mg 3 mornings a week for about 25 years, but didn't know it was described as a junior aspirin. In the UK we don't need a prescription, but they will only sell you one pack at a time.

Not what you're looking for?
