Hi is anyone taking "Nicorandil". I am currently on, Ezetimibe 10mg x 1

Isosorbide mononitrate 60mg x 1

Famotadine 20mg x 1

Tildiem retard 90mg x 2

Aspirin 75mg x 1

Rosuvastatin 5mg x 1

Amlodipine 5mg x 1

I have just been told to stop the Amlodipine as I had awful side affects. I have just been added in its place, Nicorandil 10mg x 2

Just wondering if anyone takes this and if or how it affects you?

Hello,

I have been taking Nicorandil 30mgs twice a day for over 10 years.

I am also on lots of other medications to help manage my coronary vasospasms.

I haven't had any problems taking Nicorandil. It can cause gum problems so I see a dental hygienist every 6 months.

Nicorandil is a medication similar to isosorbide mononitrate and some people get a head at first.

I hope the Nicorandil helps.

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. It's always a bit scary when you have new medications added. The Amlodipine was awful for me. I tried to persevere with it but the reaction I got every morning and every night was horrible. I eneded up in hospital twice. Well fingers crossed for this new one.I have been referred for a sleep apnea test. I do have nocturnal bradycardia. I'm not sure if they are related or a separate issue?

I've been on 20mg Nicorandil twice a day for nearly two years. I tend to get dreadful side effects from most meds but I've tolerated this without any issue. I hope it works for you.

hi, I was in Nicorandil to treat microvascular angina but it didn’t seem to help at all so mine was changed to Amlodipine which has really helped … I guess that’s not particularly helpful info for you!

I have been on 20 mg twice daily Nicorandil since 2021 and it significantly improved my angina symptoms. Only side effect that I have is that my eyes water very readily if I am outside. I did have a 6 month period on 30mg but this have me mouth and anal ulcers so the code was reduced. It is a known side effect listed on the information sheet in each pack.I hope it works for you. Good luck
