Hi, I'm New here

Morning all this is my first post. I was diagnosed with Severe Heart Disease last November (2016) after having severe chest pains which I ignored for some time (not my best decision). I had all the tests and was told I have unstable Angina and had 2 stents fitted. Two weeks ago the chest pains started again and I was readmitted to hospital and was confined to bed rest for 2 days then another Angiogram which resulted in having the 2 original stents replaced as they had started to block again and had a third one fitted. When I came out of Hospital I must admit I felt very low, I eat a good diet and exercise regularly. I'm feeling better now as I have accepted that this could happen again, I have been reading the daily entries here and it helps a lot knowing other people have the same feeling.

Welcome. It's really tough when aspects of your condition are out of your control, isn't it? I think it's important (for your sanity) to feel like you do have some control. I often have to remind myself that eating well and exercising is still valuable, even if I don't see any improvements in my heart. Who knows how bad things could have been right now if I wasn't trying to live well? Living a healthy lifestyle WILL be making things better in some way, even if it's not obvious. This forum is a great place to visit to keep yourself motivated. Keep in touch x

Hi Laura, I thought I answered you this morning but must have cancelled instead of submitting reply. I agree with you totally, I dread to think what the outcome would be if I didn't have a healthy lifestyle. Once again thank you for replying.

hello Mirador, welcome to the forum. Glad to hear you are feeling better after your recent troubles.

The low feeling is fairly common amongst us, some cope better than others but there is good advice here plus as you say it helps to know you are not alone.

Hopefully an onwards and upwards journey from here on in

Mark

Yes welcome, sorry to hear you have had the heart issues and you've Evan had to come on here at all. The forum that is.

I just hope you start to improve and feel like your old self again soon. Because you will feel stronger again soon. When you do, you'll look back and wonder how you got through those tuff times.

Best wishes and hugs, Jo 🙂

Hi, it is good to be able to chat to people and listen to everyone's stories. You don't feel so alone.

Hi and welcome, I hope you will continue to feel a bit better, it is a terrible shock when something like this happens, and I find that it is a great help when feeling down I can get support on this forum from fellow heart chums and also the nurses take care x

Hiya, was just reading through your first original post.

When you say chest pain, what kind of pain was it, was it sharp or stabbing kind of pain, or was it a tightness kind of pain?

Also how long did your pains normally last, was it at rest or during exertion?

Sorry to ask questions but it’s better to listen to people’s experiences rather than dr Google!

Hi, My original pain was very intense tightness and heavy across my chest travelling up to my neck and into my arms and back this could happen when walking and also when lying in bed. Breathing was difficult at this time too, now the pain is similar but not quite so intense. I think a visit to your doctor is the best thing if you are experiencing any form of chest pain as each person's symptoms and descriptions of chest pain is different. Let us know how you get on and hope this helps a bit.

Sorry it took so long to reply I missed this post.
