does anyone know of a drug that will replace spironolactone i hate taking it as it gives me aweful indigestion and i am losing my hair (i dont know if this is the because if the tablets though) i am already taking ferusemide but i would really like to know if there is an alternative for the spironolactone?

if I was in your position I’d start by having a chat with the dispensing pharmacist. Depending on what he or she says, then ask to speak to one of the pharmacists employed at your gp group of surgeries (assuming they have them), and the pharmacist can then guide your doctor.

I got moved from Spironolactone to Eplerenone. The latter is a more expensive drug that has less side effects apparently.

Works for me.

I'm not medically trained and all that, and im not going bald from anything so probably worth having a chat with a GP, or a hairdresser.

i was also wondering if it caused my problems. I also have diverticulitis. Gives my gas. Im currently on 12.5 mg daily.
