Do you know the right number of calories you should be consuming? I found this cool calculator that gives you an accurate number based on your height, weight, age, and activity level.
thanks. I use a free app called MyNetDiary - you can upgrade to a paid version - into which you can upload everything you eat and drink , and the exercise you do, and it calculates for you.
It also tells you if you are eating too much salt or not enough calcium
My take on the 'right number of calories' to consume, is a judgement on what is enough to keep me going without feeling lack lustre, and certainly avoid the tendency to lose too much weight so that I look and feel ill, yet on the other hand so I don't start to put weight on from what I believe is a healthy body weight for me. Most of what we choose to eat should be based on common sense, such as as foods loaded with carbohydrates and fats are calorie rich, which means enjoy them in moderation, but certainly avoid hollow calories as in sugary stuff. So with a little self education about what is perceived as 'good' and 'bad' folks really don't need an app to pander to, telling them what and how much to eat, their efforts would be better spent ensuring they have a varied diet based on eating good nutritious food, balanced to their life circumstances.
Agree!! All these apps tell me I should eat around 2350 calories a day - I think I'd have to be running daily half marathons to cope with that!! 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
