Entresto availability

Been prescribed Entresto. Been told by pharmacy today there is a shortage. Is anyone else aware of this? Thank you for the help

Shortage of Entresto has been an issue for about 3 years, maybe more. Mainly because it's so expensive the pharmacies don't/ wont hold a lot of stock of it. If your pharmacy hasn't got any they should phone around for you to see if another local pharmacy has any spare. We only have a small village pharmacy, they often only have a couple of weeks worth of stock for my husband, but they always order in more before he runs out.

Hi Tumptysmum, I'm on Entresto, and so far supply has been OK. Sometimes I get my meds in different boxes and a different looking tablet inside even though it's the correct medication. I queried this with my cardiac nurse as it can be confusing and was told it's because of the shortage in the U.K. they are sourced from Europe. Best wishes.

hi I have been on the top dose of Entresto for 4 years up to now I hunt had any probs with my pharmacy here in cardiff it was prescribed for me by cardiology @ UHW I was told the reason I was put on it is very aggressive to blood pressure.

Recently I’ve had no problems with Entresto. In the pass I’ve contacted my cardiologist and they arranged for me to get some from the hospital. They told me just email them if I have any problems getting my heart failure meds but I must give them 2 weeks notice.

My pharmacist said they have had to put my hospital number into their computer to the people who sends them the meds and the people can see I’m a real person who is on the medication ordered.

Years ago I was told some pharmacists were over ordering Entresto to send abroad.
