Hello everyone. I had a few weeks ago ECG which showed that I have 1st degree heart block. Also, last year I was diagnosed with mild heart disease. My question is shall I make an appointment with cardiologist because of the heart block?
Heart block first degree. : Hello... - British Heart Fou...
Heart block first degree.
you should talk to your doctor in the first instance. Within the NHS (unless you are going private) access to cardiology is via a GP.
1st degree heartblock, if the remainder of the ECG is normal, is not usually concerning. It is not possible to say much else without the image. Happyrosie is correct - you need to ask the professional who requested the test.
I have 1st degree heart block. It is considered a benign issue but perhaps worth monitoring. Check with a cardiologist. I'm not a doctor!
I had 1st degree heart block for decades where it didn't become worse. Still I checked in with a cardiologist yearly for a long time but then got careless when I moved across country as I didn't find a new cardiologist right away. Bad move on my part as I developed pulmonary edema then the SOB got so bad I had to go to the ER. Found out my aortic valve was malfunctioning and had to be replaced. I was lucky as the surgeon said I had let it go so long I was very close to dying..
