Saw the gp this morning , but same answers come of the bisoprolol, have some blood tests AGAIN !, have some ECG tests AGAIN ! only difference was that depending on results might have to go to cardiologist clinic. Doing my head in can,t plan anything with work.

that’s great you got an appointment as you weren’t very hopeful at all.
And at least they are willing to investigate rather than being sent away!
A bit of progress.
👍
whilst you wait for the tests, there are things you can do for yourself.
Does your diet need tweaking? Plenty of vegetables, go for cooking from scratch. Recipes and advice on the BHF website.
You’re an entrepreneur, I think from your past posts. This can mean that the stresses of your life get hard to deal with. So think about relaxation techniques.
Exercise - make sure you have plenty of exercise - I don’t mean going to the gym but walking in fresh air, especially in the countryside, is very calming.
At least there is some progress: stopping the bisoprolol will raise your blood pressure and heart rate, which was really needed. However, stopping it suddenly can also result in arrhythmias or angina, so be aware of that and go to ED if necessary. Hopefully your blood tests included a check for evidence of myocardial infarction (heart attack), as would the repeat ECG. And hopefully there was a plan for a different treatment if your original problem (reason for the bisoprolol - AF??) returns. Certainly accept the offer of a cardiologist if it is available.
Hi, went for blood tests this morning ,had to walked only a mile got there felt pretty ropey , i think it was due to the fact that it was a fasting blood test, got home had toast and tea feel a bit better, got ECG test tomorrow afternoon, i certainly won,t turn down the offer of a cardiologist, need some answers Had AF since 2018 ,never had really any seriouse problems untill April of this year ,thats when they put me on 1.25 Bisoprolol because of high blood pressure, Since then i,ve been on and off it over the months, and everyone on this forum tells me its a low dose.
... be aware your blood pressure should be judged on repeated home measurements, not on a single reading in the doctor's office. In other words, treatment should be based around your home BP readings... If you've had AF since 2018, you should be on some anticoagulation. And there are alternatives to bisoprolol/ beta blockers for rate control and high blood pressure.
I did take my bloodpressure test before i went to see doctor yesterday it came out as 109/66 pulse rate 41 ,when she took it all she said it was ok , i,ve never been on any anticoagulation since being diagnosed with At fib 2018. When i was having problems with it April this year i had to buy a machine and fill a chart in for a week When first put on bisopropol, but they have never said anything about taking it regular,i only take it when i start feeling rough.
OMG blood pressure 109/66 and pulse 41, with symptoms, is NOT OK
Prehaps that ,s why she sent me for blood test s and to have ECG test, When she took my pressure later that morning at appointment she said it was ok but did not tell me what it was.
Took pressure this morning 3 times and did the average it came out 118/64 pulse rate 84, i ,ve stopped taking the bisoprolol today like she said.
I don't understand what seems to be this stop/start procedure with Bisoprolol. I have always understood that it should be stopped slowly - over a period of time.

surely if you have AF the very first thing you should have is anti coagulation? Has this not been discussed with you or any specific reason why you aren’t on it?
They never discussed it at all when first diagnosed with it ,I remember only them saying at the time if things got worse, they would have to start me on something that was 2018,but in April when things were getting .more noticeable and the gp saw my blood pressure was high, he was a bit surprised that they had not put me on any thing back then, that,s why I was put on 1.25 bisoprolol. In April
thanks for reply. Of course these tests wont alter what we are talking about - anti coagulation - but if it gets you in front of a health professional you can ask then
