hmmm I’ve a feeling this isn’t the forum for you.
People with tinnitus post on the tinnitus forum and some posters there talk about TMJ and ears popping - you could visit the website of Tinnitus UK for into on these maybe as well as the tinnitus part of Health Unlocked,
There’s an arthritis forum here too, you might get something.
Hi. I get a lot of ear popping and also have TMJS. Never really connected it to air pressure but could be? Got a lot of ear pain though after having an anthroscopy on my jaw, plus it made my TMJS worse, so just be aware of this if they recommend one for you
TMJ dysfunction and middle ear problems can be related. Common problem.
yes 2 problems. I have TMJ through bad dentistry. The smallest bones of the body are in the ear. I’m trained Complementary Therapist and have treated ear issues.
When you swallow a little flap at the end of the eustatian tube opens to drain the ear, crackling and popping may be an ‘air lock’, the mucus can become thick and infected sometimes. Have you been given jaw exercises? Jaw slightly ajar, consciously pull in bottom jaw, curl tongue to roof and gently open n close jaw, not easy. I was given this exercise by hospital years ago.
Now, there are acupressure points on each side of the jaw hinge, rub with 3 fingers for. Minute. You can massage under the ear on neck/ear points.
I have good results from my combined treatments 👍🏻
I have TMJ that caused eustachian tube dysfunction, sounds exactly like what you describe. Mine never went away, gum shield helps a bit, hot drinks, clearing sinuses, heat on the joint/over ear and earplanes when flying (this is the wrong forum though, but hope you feel better soon)
