Speak to a pharmacist or your GP if your heart rate drops to below 40 after taking medication. Alternatively you could try the BHF Heart Helpline nurse. Without knowing the medication you are taking and your medical circumstances no-one can really comment in a knowledgeable way, and further, most on here, including me, are not medically qualified.
You need to call your GP or Cardiac helpline and explain this and ask whether you may need to be on a slightly smaller dose or require a different medication. A pharmacist won't be knowledgeable enough or able to give you the medical advice required in these circumstances and you can't just make changes yourself , these decisions need to be arranged with a doctor. Also ask for advice about what would be the best time of day to take your medication because you are having Bradycardia ( very low heart rate).
You may also find that until the situation has been resolved that you need to try to do some gentle activity in the hour after you take your medication, a little stroll or sit up and do a little upper body movement in a chair, and make sure you don't lie down or sit with your feet too high up as a rest position will also add to the risk that your heart rate will drop too low when the dose is at its highest.
Which medication are you taking , if you are happy to discuss that.
Take care and I hope things are sorted out soon. Bee
Are you taking beta blockers? When I had my HA they put me on what seemed to be a low dose but my resting heart rate fell to under 40 bpm. It was the rehab team that picked this up, and immediately my daily dose was halved. Problem solved. Good luck getting your problem sorted quickly

A few of the meds we take can cause it, speak to your GP. In the meantime look out for any symptoms, dizziness when standing up after sitting for example
I had a 7 day ECG monitor that showed I get occasional nocturnal bradycardia around 38bpm. The cardiologist isn’t worried as it’s occasional and I’m asymptomatic. When do you take your bisoprolol? And I see your hypothyroid have you had your bloods taken recently?
Are you on Beta Blocker?
Most likely bisoprolol or a drug like that intended to lower your heart rate to reduce the strain on it and your blood pressure. That is quite low. Im on bisoprolol 2.5mg and mine goes down as low as 45 sometimes. My resting heartrate used to be about 80 but now its usually in the 50s.
Are you on beta blockers. Mine went down to about that on beta blockers. I asked to come off them because of that. Luckily this didn't make symptoms worse. I actually felt better
Heart rate back up to 50 ISH. I Jane angina and had one stent in lad 18 months ago. I was prescribed nets blockers before stent to help manage symptoms
Hi, as the others have said it is best to speak to a medical professional; we all react and respond differently to medication.
Post HA (nstemi II) and Afib diagnosis I was prescribed Flecainide and Bisoprolol. The latter was withdrawn, as by HR was dropping off and I was feeling really fatigued.
Currently, my RHR is low 50s and evening/sleep it still drops to high 30s/low 40s. I do suffer from orthostatic hypotension but this has always been the case (pre heart issues); I am quite tall, which doesn’t help.
All of this is fine for me, I am not really affected, cardiologist not concerned. I regularly exercise - run, cycle, climb.
If this is affecting your QoL and you are worried, speak to your GP.
