There is plenty of information on the BHF website on how to reduce your cholesterol levels and reduce your heart health risk. The main points involve diet (typically a Mediterranean diet), exercise, alcohol consumption, and smoking, generally known as 'lifestyle'. I suggest you look them up. But if you have not had your cholesterol levels measured and are 50 and over the NHS will provide free testing. However there are some high cholesterol levels which may mean medication is recommended in addition to lifestyle, especially if you have known heart related health conditions, and your health professional will be able to advise on that.
along with what Lowerfield says. The website of Blood Pressure UK is very helpful.
